Big garage sale tomorrow with our Financial Peace group! It will be fun, and hopefully lucrative. We cleaned out the little boys bedroom today. What a mess! But now it is all organized and sorted. You know, there is nothing like the wonderful spirit of a truly clean, neatly organized room. Even with Super Heroes painted on the walls, it was peaceful!

All this cleaning has put my husband in a mind to sort and organize as well. He discovered a great new book written by Julie Morgenstern, "When Organizing Isn't Enough; SHED Your stuff, Change Your Life. (It's on Amazon) Now he will agree with me, I am married to a terminal packrat, but DH realizes the benefits of order as well, and Ms. Morgenstern's book rings with truth. Her acronym, SHED is thought provoking before you even open the book:

S- Separate your treasures
H- Heave the trash (Garage sale anyone?)
E- Embrace your identity
D- Drive yourself forward (contrast that to endure to the end, sisters!)

Ponder and review, hmmmmm, thoughts to wash dishes by....

So we are off the the garage sale, pondering on the wonders of SHED.
No, we don't need a shed, we need to SHED!

I finally gave my Snowday Spring Sacrament Meeting Talk- yesterday. Here is the final version. I had to change it a bit since it was after the Easter holiday. I really am just a frustrated teacher without a classroom. I totally miss going in each morning to 15-20 sleepy eyed teenagers and rousing them with a great gospel discussion. As much as I hate to stand in front of a group, once I'm there, it's hard to get me to sit down. I just get such a kick out of feeling the Spirit and teaching! Here's the talk- enjoy! Galapochica Day!

Happy Galapochica Day! What's that, you ask? Why, it's one of the most important holidays of our year- bringing anticipation and excitement to our entire household! Especially, because it is a holiday that is original and uniquely ours. Indulge me a moment will you, and I will venture to explain. A year ago this morning, our youngest son Jared, at age 5, came into the kitchen bleary eyed and reluctant to begin another school day. We had enjoyed a wonderful weekend holiday and Jare was a bit worn out and not ready to go back to the rigors of regular life. Thus came his opening remarks of the day, "Mom, today is a holiday. There's no school." "Sorry Jare, no holiday today." was my reply, "It's a school day, but the weekend sure was fun, wasn't it?" Jared was insistent,and his tone intensified. My Snowday Sacrament Meeting Talk

Last week I was asked to give a talk on the Resurrection today. It was an amazingly beautiful spring day, and on the way home I was struck with the sudden inspiration to liken the resurrection to all the beauties of spring. Now, Elder Maxwell has told us that the challenges and trials we face in our lives will not be without irony. That's part of what makes them work so well in teaching us. After working hard on my talk all week, I finally finished it on Thursday. Troy previewed it and pronounced it "good" and I felt like it would please our Heavenly Father. I was content. Then came the weather forecast....and the irony. 75 sunny degrees on Friday- It was gorgeous! We spent the day digging in the garden and enjoying the luscious spring weather. Saturday- 40 degrees and rain. Snow for Sunday! Snow! How could I give a talk on Spring's renewal and the resurrection in the snow?!?
