Imaginations run wild-

Jared has spent the last week planning and researching the building of a "time machine". He brought home half the books from the science shelf at the library (only stopping at half because I assured him that we would be back in two days to get the rest) and started a "shopping list". Here's what he has so far:

electric motor
lasers (to defend against bad guys)
stereo radio (a must for time travel)
radar (to watch out for bad guys)
video game (in case it takes a while)
garage door opener (storage)
space shuttle parts (none specifically- he's creative)
plane parts (cuz it's gotta fly ya know)

I'm sure the list will grow as his research continues, but tonight, while Troy was tucking him in, the following conversation took place- in hushed tones...

"Dad, would you please turn on the light a little bit- just on low?"

"Why, Jared?"

"Because, I'm convinced that there's a gremlin over there that's going to jump up and get me."

"I'll turn on the light, but you know that there's no gremlin there."

"Yes, I know that there's no gremlin there, but I'm convinced that there's one there that's going to jump out and get me."

Could the lasers be to defend against gremlins? It's interesting that we can know that something is not real and yet still be "convinced" that it will jump out and get us, isn't it? Ahhhh, the complexities of life, common to us all! (1 Corinthians 10:13)
